About Steven

Steven van der Linden is a 25-year-old tenor from Utrecht, the Netherlands. He is currently in his second year at the Guildhall Opera Course, studying with John Evans.

Despite still being a student, Van der Linden regularly appears in recitals, oratorios and operas in The Netherlands, Germany, The United Kingdom and Spain and has sung in venues like Barbican Hall, Opera Holland Park, Milton Court Concert Hall, Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Berliner Dom and Teatro Pérez Galdós.

Future plans include creating the role of Juan Preciado in a world premiere of Stephen McNeff’s A Star next to the Moon and singing Bach’s Johannes Passion in Germany and in Spain. Furhtermore, Steven will be singing in the Glyndebourne Chorus for their 2024 season.

Steven is supported by The Worshipful Company of Grocers, Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, VandenEnde Foundation and Countess of Munster fund. Steven is furthermore a Josephine Baker trustee and a Samling Artist.
